Ariana Grande's Best Collaborations

Pop star Ariana Grande has released many deep solo cuts in her career, like “get well soon” and “needy.” But has anyone ever taken the time to appreciate her collaborations? Between having 8 features on a single album and collaborating with Nicki Minaj 5 times, Grande has practically mastered the collaborations game. Today, in no particular order, we’ll be sharing 6 of our favourite times that Grande has shared the spotlight with another artist or possibly even stole it from them.

"The Way" by Ariana Grande ft. Mac Miller

What better way to start this list than with Grande’s debut single. Released all the way back in 2013, “The Way” is the lead single for Grande’s debut album Yours Truly and features the late rapper Mac Miller. The song was the perfect way to introduce Grande to the general public because it showcased Grande’s insane vocal range and the production featured some R&B influences, which Grande said was the style of music she wanted to make. One thing that stands out about this song is Grande and Miller’s chemistry in the music video. They even went on to date a few years later, but unfortunately ended things in 2018. Rest in peace Mac ❤️.

"Quit" by Cashmere Cat ft. Ariana Grande

It is so unfortunate that so many people don’t know about this song. “Quit” is by DJ and producer Cashmere Cat and features Grande as the only vocalist. We’re only counting this as a collaboration to introduce this flawless song to the world. The production is smooth and not overbearingly EDM and Grande’s harmonies in the outro are beautiful. The two have also collaborated on Grande’s album My Everything (“Be My Baby”) and on another Cashmere Cat single (“Adore”). Watch the lyric video below!

"Let Me Love You" by Ariana Grande ft. Lil Wayne

It wouldn’t be a Best Ariana Grande ANYTHING list without this sultry banger. “Let Me Love You” was released as a promotional single for Grande’s third album Dangerous Woman in 2016 and has remained a fan favourite on the album ever since. The trap production goes incredibly well with Grande’s soft vocals and Lil Wayne’s heavily autotuned voice somehow makes the song even better. Even though it was released 4 years ago, it still feels fresh every time I hear it and it remains a contender for one of Grande’s best songs ever.

"Rain On Me" by Lady Gaga & Ariana Grande

This is the collaboration that I never knew I needed! Gaga and Grande released “Rain On Me” a week before the release of Gaga’s album Chromatica in May. Their voices sit perfectly over the house beat and even though Gaga sounded amazing, Grande really stole the spotlight on this one. Her voice was soft in her verse and her many, many, many runs and belts took the song to a whole other level. Not to mention that both singers’ voices blended beautifully together and their chemistry in the music video is to die for.

"Dance to This" by Troye Sivan ft. Ariana Grande

Ariana just can’t stop stealing the spotlight! “Dance to This” is on Sivan’s 2018 album Bloom and is a mid-tempo track with tropical influences. This song is right in Grande’s range and she shines beautifully on the song. The best part of the song is when Grande and Troye harmonize as they sing Under the kitchen lights, you still look like dynamite / And I wanna end up on you” in the second pre-chorus. This song has remained a fan favourite since its release two years ago and will be hard to top.

"Side to Side" by Ariana Grande ft. Nicki Minaj

What better way to end this list with a Nicki Minaj feature. “Side to Side” is a reggae-inspired single off Grande’s third album Dangerous Woman and is one of the many collaborations between this iconic duo. While they have released some bangers (“Get On Your Knees”) and some flops (“Bed”). “Side to Side” came out on top for us. Between Grande’s stellar vocals, the flawless production by Max Martin and the iconic Nicki Minaj verse (that inspired a piece of tour merch), this song has no reason for it not to rise above the others.

In conclusion, even though Grande shines by herself, a guest feature or two never hurt anybody. Not to mention that she knows how to steal the spotlight!
